Smita's World!
Hello!!! :)

Namaste! And welcome to my place in Cyberspace.

My name is Smita Agrawal. I am doing my Masters in Audiology at Purdue University, U.S of A. I am from Mumbai, INDIA. I have done my Bachelor's in Audiology and Speech Rehabilitation from T.N.M.C, Nair Hospital in Bombay University. I have practised as an Audiologist & Speech Therapist for a couple of years at Dr. Uppals ENT Hospital,Thane, India.

Let me give you a word of caution now. I am going to talk about
myself now, so read on at your own risk! For my friends in India, I should not be held responsible for your phone bill incase you doze off while still online.....

I am a LEO and I love life. I am awed by Nature, mesmerized by all her glory, from every Sunrise and Moonrise to the tiny fledgling learning to fly. I love to travel, see new places, go trekking, swimming and play badminton. These days, I am also trying my hand at Tennis and Basketball but thats a whole new ballgame..

Like any other 'normal' human being, I like listening to music. Infact, I think I breath music. I prefer soft, soothing music, be it Hindi or English, modern or classical. And I LOVE to dance, that doesn't mean that I can dance well, mind you! LOL! But then, who cares! I was learning ballroom dancing during the spring semester. Don't know about the dance but I sure did have a ball of a time! :)

I am also interested in Astronomy. Give me a clear night sky and I will
show you a starry-eyed Smita! Am also interested in Graphology. (Thank your stars that I can't see your handwriting over the net, hehe!!) I also like to sketch.

I love to read. Anything from newspapers to magazines to novels. If there is someone at home hidden behind a book, it has to be...yes, me! If I am not in front of the computer, that is. Some of my favourite authors are Jeffrey Archer, Arthur Hailey (Airport), Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead), Erich Von Daniken, Carl Sagan (Cosmos), Erich Segal (The Class), Zora Neale Hurston (Their Eyes were watching God), Toni Morrison (The Beloved), William Dean Howell (The Rise of Silas Lapham) and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni (Sister of My Heart).

I am no longer the big TV buff I used to be back in India. "The X-Files" was one my favourites. Isn't David Duchonvy a dish! I am glad that I do manage to catch the show now and then without being hooked on to it. But my most favorite serial by far has been Remington Steele. Would love watching it even if it's the umpteenth rerun!! Pierce Brosnan!!!!
As for our Desi stars, the Khans rule!! No No, I dont mean Ayub or Arbaaz Khan!! Don't you think Amir Khan is our Desi Tom Hanks? Sanjeev Kumar is my all time favorite though.

And as far as Cricket is concerned, ahem, no thanx, my interest in it has been clean bowled. Have't seen cricket in a long time now. Now that its been so long, I think I wouldn't mind watching a game again. Err....any new studs on the pitch these days? We can talk about Purdue football and basketball though!! Go Boilers Go!!!!

Uh oh! This looks like an essay on Myself! I hope I come up with something interesting very soon! Until then, friends.
Keep Smiling !!! :))))))))))))))))))))))
